To spread the news about HOT SHAVE, in By a Whisker Series we interview a men’s grooming expert on how they shave their own faces and their observations on the device.
PHILIP B SHAVING PROFILE Style: Close stubble but clean around moustache, sometimes I let stubble grow out, sometimes I grow a goatee. |
Haircare and grooming products entrepreneur Philip B–who splits his time between Palm Springs, California and Munich, Germany–has spent the whole of his career thinking about hair. Lately, he’s been concentrating on his Scalp Booster System (Pre-Wash Treatment, Shampoo and Conditioner) that encourages hair regrowth in both men and women.
This means that turning his thoughts to the hair growing out of the face and neck is not such a stretch for him. As a first adopter in love with technology, he was intrigued with our latest Japanese import, the HOT SHAVE device. He’s normally a shave gel guy but for his HOT SHAVE premier run he used a conductive jelly developed for radiofrequency and other technologies which he felt worked well.
For himself, Philip usually shaves cold. “I want those whiskers stiff and standing at attention so I can clip them off,” he reports. “Even so, I have to say that HOT SHAVE felt really good and softened my beard so that it came right off. It delivered a super-close finish and my skin feels silky. I particularly liked that the trimmer attachment delivered such a clean sharp edge around my moustache and beard.”
HOT SHAVE is a USB-powered electric shaver developed and manufactured by skincare tools and product formula maker Ya-Man Ltd. in Japan. In addition to delivering a clean, close shave, it also conditions the skin.
“HOT SHAVE delivered a super-close finish and left my skin feeling silky. I particularly liked that the trimmer attachment delivered such a clean sharp edge around my moustache and beard.”
